Mouthwash: add 2 teaspoons of red sage leaves to half a litre of water, bring to the boil and leave covered for 15 minutes. Gargle with the warm solution for 5-10 minutes several times a day. Golden seal is effective in attacking the bacteria associated with abscesses. It also stimulates the immune system and reduces inflammation: take 2-4 ml of the tincture in water 3 times daily.
