Aneurysm... PDF

The abnormal and permanent ballooning of a weak artery wall due to its weakened structure and the pressure of blood flow. The weakness may be a result of disease, injury, or a congenital defect. Aneurysms can exist for years without symptoms. They cannot be reversed and therefore treatment is aimed at preventing them from becoming worse.

Treatment - Dietary

Cut down on saturated fats (red meats and dairy produce). Increase intake of oily fish: sardines, herrings, salmon. Eat plenty of garlic. Sprinkle brewer’s yeast on your food. Avoid salt.

Homeopathy

Baryta carbonica 6c, once daily for one month helps tone and strengthen the arterial walls.

Exercise

Gentle regular exercise, such as walking or swimming, is good for this condition. However, avoid going out in very cold weather, and stop exercising immediately if you feel any pain.

Relaxation

Attending a yoga or meditation class will help improve or prevent this condition. The following relaxation routine should be carried out at least once daily:

Lie on a firm surface, close your eyes and become aware of how your body feels. Focus your attention on each part of your body, starting with the tips of the toes, and finishing with your face and eyes: consciously try to relax every part of your body in turn. The whole procedure should take at least 10 minutes. Yogic breathing helps relaxation: kneel on the floor, place one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest. Inhale, allowing your stomach to bulge out, then slowly exhale, feeling your stomach deflate. Repeat this pattern for several minutes. Biofeedback can help you learn to relax if you have difficulties.

Orthodox

For life-threatening aneurysms, surgery is relatively successful in trying off the weakened area or replacing it with a synthetic graft.
